Whiteboards for All
Blackboards and chalk are still the standard in many Tanzanian schools. Teachers write on the board all day, and pupils often use small personal chalk slates at their desks as well. The result is a fine layer of chalk dust in the air, on desks, on hands and on uniforms.
Chalk dust can irritate the eyes, nose and airways, and it's especially unpleasant for anyone with asthma or allergies. Teachers, who spend years at the board, get the most exposure of all.
Whiteboards for All replaces classroom blackboards and pupils' slates with whiteboards, markers and erasers. It's a simple change with benefits you can see on day one.

The TASPO Taskbook
Knowing how to plan is one of the most valuable skills a student can learn, and one that's rarely taught. The TASPO Taskbook helps students set goals, plan their week, keep track of homework and see their own progress.
The Taskbook is the first part of a wider TASPO digital platform. It will link students, teachers, clubs and schools, and will make it easier to follow attendance, lesson planning and activities, and to report to the education authorities.

Academic and socio-economic clubs
Some of the most important learning happens outside ordinary lessons. TASPO supports after-school clubs where students can go deeper into subjects they enjoy, try out new skills and take on responsibility.
Academic clubs give extra time for subjects such as science, maths and languages. Socio-economic clubs focus on practical, real-world skills, such as small projects, teamwork, leadership and understanding money.
